The citizens of Los Angeles have been put through the ultimate test in the last few months. With fires breaking out across the city in January, thousands of people had to evacuate their homes and sadly so many of those people were never able to return. Over 16,000 structures, including homes, schools and businesses, perished in the fires. What is now known as one of California’s largest natural disasters has brought heartbreak and sadness to the city. In the wake of tragedy there is always a silver lining, and the people of LA will tell you, the silver lining in this catastrophe has been a city coming together to support one another. Clothing drives, food stations and donation centers popped up all over the city, while volunteer options were limited because an abundance of people wanted to help. Concerts and fundraisers filled peoples’ calendars, all raising funds for those affected by the fires. Each neighborhood came together in unique ways, and Studio City, a center of the entertainment industry, was no exception.

Barre3 Studio City hosted a community workout on the backlot of the iconic Radford Studio, with all proceeds going to the American Red Cross and their support of the LA wildfires. “We’re hoping to do our small part to support the community and give back where we can,” studio owner Kat Doty said. Radford Studio has had a hand in creating some of the most beloved shows of all time, including Seinfeld, The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Gilligan’s Island. On February 8, dozens of exercise enthusiasts gathered on the so-called “streets of New York,” under sunny skies, to sweat for a good cause. Wearing headphones bumping with beats, the sound off experience was like a silent disco with a workout and while fun was had, good was done.
Barre3 Studio City will celebrate its first anniversary in March. If you’re looking for a good workout and a great community, this studio will welcome you in. Barre3 workouts are efficient and effective, combining strength, cardio and mindfulness. During Barre3, you’ll move through low-impact isometric moves, large-range cardio bursts, and mind-centering breath work. Barre3 instructors will challenge you to find your edge while creating space for you to define what success looks like for you in every workout.
